Buyala Junior School embarked on its journey in 2002 with a humble beginning, fuelled by a vision to provide quality education and holistic development opportunities to young learners. With a modest cohort of 8 students, 5 dedicated teaching staff, and 1 support staff member, the school commenced its operations from primary five.

In 2004, BJS achieved a significant milestone as its inaugural batch of students registered for and successfully completed the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE).
